INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF GYMNASTICS
Bruno Grandi remarked that we are in the middle of a cycle and on the eve of the 2012 Olympic
Games in London (GBR).
Cooperation with the Continental Unions is fine, and means of development
are available to them.
Unfortunately the unstable political situation in some countries has slowed down development
considerably and we have to adjust our assistance accordingly. Thanks to the help provided by the
VTB bank, and especially Vasily Titov, its Vice-President and a Member of the FIG Executive
Committee, we are in a position to offer more significant assistance to our Continental Unions.
Bruno Grandi officially thanked Vasily Titov and the Russian bank VTB.
The President underscored again that our attitudes must change, if we want gymnastics to be an
attractive sport. Nowadays everything happens very quickly; we must make up for lost time. The
television viewing audience is interested in short competitions and especially easy to understand.
We must keep this fact in mind when we prepare the new codes of points. We have to accept
change.
